HEALING LIVES

We strive to heal all who are in the path of the disease. Treating the individual is just the beginning: our work starts there and then goes much deeper.

Authenticity: We believe in honest, direct communication with each other and with our patients. We trust each other to do what we say we will do.

Compassion

Passionate connection and commitment to each other and those we serve.

Collaboration

The quality of being modest, unpretentious, and humble, is the key to our collaboration and success as a team. We take the initiative to solve problems and bring solutions- we trust each other to honor our commitments. When we see something that needs to be done, we believe it is better to take action instead of waiting for approval to take action.

The Difference

Magnified Addiction Treatment Difference

Our licensed therapists, doctors, counselors, and other professionals are trained to think “Outside-the-Box” when it comes to clinical care. We go above and beyond to create clinical programming that is unique, more effective, and more engaging. We find that applying scientific, evidence based treatment, using a creative approach, helps us to truly individualize care, make treatment more engaging, and by default, longer lasting.

All of our staff are trained in using rapport-building and engaging approaches through our unique Magnified Health Clinical Training Program. At all hours of the day and night, a staff member is there for anyone and everyone. We have a higher than normal staff-to-patient ratio and we believe this is vital to patient care.

We pride ourselves on using the most scientifically effective clinical and medical treatment available for treating substance use disorders and other mental health disorders. We believe in the diagnostic medicine approach to all behavioral and mental health disorders. Simply put, if a person has received the wrong diagnosis previously and was treated according to the faulty diagnosis, then the treatment will not work. We take the time to truly discover the underlying cause of a patient’s biological, psychological, and social issues so we can better treat the individual.

History Of Drug Abuse In South Florida

Thanks to the drug wars of the 1970s and 1980s, most people over the age of 40 know that Miami has staked a claim as the world’s drug capital. National news reports about the Cocaine Cowboys, Hollywood films like Scarface, and the smash hit TV series Miami Vice told the world everything they needed to know to make Miami infamous in those years, even if they weren’t here to witness it firsthand. Despite the recent media attention, drug use in Miami and the rest of South Florida has a long and storied past. Problems related to drug abuse, dependency, and rehabilitation have persisted throughout the local area. South Florida had become a center for criminal activity due to its location, drug cartels, and general way of life. Consequently, there is a disproportionate amount of drug abuse and addiction in the greater Miami area. So, people started talking about solutions to the growing problem in the late 1970s and 1980s. Answers came from many different sectors, such as forensics, the justice system, and medicine. While initiatives were being taken at the national level to combat this spreading pandemic, no city rose to the challenge as Miami did. The situation was identified by several individuals and groups as early as the 1960s, and prompt action was taken to address it. Over the years, Miami has seen the establishment of several rehabilitation facilities. There are still some of them around today. Those in need of substance abuse rehabilitation treatments could find hope at any of these centers. The judicial system was not idle while all this was transpiring in the sphere of treatment. In 1989, Miami took action that would eventually serve as a template for care around the country. The objectives of the South Florida program have always included the selection of suitable applicants, the provision of an alternative to conventional legal proceedings and jail, and the promotion of rehabilitation. More than 2,000 jurisdictions across the United States now feature drug courts.
